Lyn Prado has one of those stories that inspire you to get after it no matter what. Her fitness journey started after she realized the chances of her getting a severe life-threatening disease was getting higher and higher. Being 50+ years old made this real.

Lyn is married, has 3 kids, and helps take care of her 78-year-old mother. Almost single-handedly. Because of her husband's traveling nature of his job.

So she can't afford to get a severe life-threatening disease. She is the glue that holds her family together.

Lyn was doing things to help her get healthier. Small things. Nothing significant that would change her health and lifestyle.

Until her 72-year-old mother-in-law slipped and fell, which required surgery. This was Lyn's wake up call. She realized how important it was for self-care. Which was overdue for her.

"I need to give importance to myself so that I don't run down myself or get overwhelmed with the specific daily challenges of taking care of other family members."

Lyn started the NYNY challenge at FBBC to make her health the number one priority. Now it's made a massive difference in the way her days go. It's now easier for her to wake up at 4 am to do the 5:30 am workouts.

"It is so much easier to start the day. There's new enthusiasm! Momentum! I have the feeling of a full force of energy when I had only a few hours of sleep. Even my co-workers noticed that I now take the stairs and had so much energy throughout the day. "

On top of her, having so much more energy throughout the day. She's built a fantastic relationship with food.

Before she would try to skip meals and walk around to lose weight. Thinking that this would help her mental and physical health improve. Which it didn't.

Lyn realized she needed to do more than the bare minimum to improve her mental and physical health.

"Taking on this 8-week challenge has been one of the best decisions I have made to improve my life. Because it organized my priorities about my well-being and got me out of my shell."

Lyn's story is truly inspiring. And she has lost 25.2 pounds after completing the NYNY 8-week challenge.

"Now, I can confidently say that I have the right 'tools' and mindset to continue a lifestyle commitment since the end result is a better 'ME' that I can be proud of!!!!"

We're proud of you, Lyn!!!
